Crumpled the original premise and threw it away. My idea died in flames. But a much better one rose from the ashes. I’m back on track and gaining steam. Yesterday, more pages of notes.

Two characters demanded fleshing out. But their stories soon monopolized the central conflict of the novel. And these new story lines flopped around like dying fish. I combined them and created a new character. This sub-plot now supports the main one. Doesn’t detract. Doesn’t stink like a dead fish.

Yeah, that’s how it goes with this writing stuff.
